WHAT IS A "Construction Industry" RAT ?

A Rat is a contractor that does not pay all of it's employees prevailing wages, including either providing or making payments for family health care and pension benefits.

Also, some of the rats listed below engage in the practice of mis-classifying their workforce as "1099" sub contractors when in fact these individuals are actually employee's according to the Internal Revenue Service.

How do many of these Rat Contractors manipulate the system, break the law and make

$$ MILLIONS $$ 

while placing a larger and larger burden on YOU the Atlanta Community?

With a "Cash Pay" system called the 1099.

Misclassifying their workforce as independent contractors while skipping out on practically every ligitimate tax obligation that responsible contractors and businesses must adhere to in order to LAWFULLY operate.

These practices of not providing workers comp on ALL  of their employee's only contributes to increased workers comp rates for legitimate, law abiding contractors and businesses in the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia.

It has been documented as evidence where some of these criminal rat contractors actually deduct the cost of worker compensation out of their employee's paychecks.

Also by the ILLEGAL practice of 1099'ing their EMPLOYEES, they are deferring and placing the burden of State, Federal, Medicare, Social Security and unemployment taxes of the individual workers.

Many of these RAT CONTRACTOR's employees never file taxes at the end of the year, thereby cheating the entire taxation system. 

Guess who gets to make up this "difference".
